  • A few words about the Dark Star and Fuller's deal

A few weeks ago, it was announced that Fuller's had taken a 100% stake in Dark Star, one of my favourite, small independent breweries. With a deal like this, it's always best to see how the two companies work together before deciding if it's good or bad. The time to judge this deal is in a year or two when the impact is clear.

  • The Half Moon

    The Half Moon shines brightly

The Half Moon in Kirdford was bought in the summer by fashion model, racing car driver and TV personality, Jodie Kidd. The Grade II listed pub has been renovated with new bar and interior, new menus, an outdoor patio area, and a host of other improvements. Here's my review of the Press Lunch.

A lunchtime pint at the Horsham Beer Festival

I visited Horsham Beer Festival at the weekend. It was a great event as always. The range of beers was fantastic. And the atmosphere was just right. Many thanks to Gareth Jones (The Beer Essentials) and team for making the event happen.

  • A new start for the Frog and Nightgown

The Frog and Nightgown in Wimland Road (just off the A264 between Horsham and Faygate) has been closed for three years. But, the pub has new owners now and it re-opens on 21st May. Great news!

  • The bar with hand pumps

A couple of pints at the Anchor Tap

Horsham's new pub, The Anchor Tap in East Street, opened on February 12th. I missed the opening but visited the pub on Saturday afternoon for a couple of pints.

  • A Saturday pint at The Bedford

In the first of what I hope will be a regular series of articles, here's my write-up of a recent visit to the Bedford pub near Horsham station.
