Description
The Limeburners Arms is in a converted row of 17th century cottages and was originally located on the Wey and Arun canal which is now a hundred yards away. The canal is now being restored and is nicknamed "London's lost route to the sea". The pub sells Fullers beers and a range of pub food from a cosy bar with large fireplaces and stone floors.
There is an attractive garden at the front with childrens' play area at one end. There is a campsite behind the pub.

How to get there
By car
The pub is about a mile west of Billingshurst, just adjacent to the A272. It is signposted from the A272 but it's easy to miss.
Cycling
Cycle to Billingshurst and then through the village [this avoids most of the bypass]. Take the A272 [can be busy] west towards Petworth and Wisborough Green. After about a mile [0.7 km] just before a sharp right bend, turn left on to the B2133 [towards Adversane] and the pub is on the left.
A good route to Billingshurst along some quiet roads is via Southwater to Barns Green. From here cycle south following the railway until you get to a staggered junction. Go straight across and then take the next left, before the A29, to the A272 and then right to Billingshurst.
Suggested cycling routes from here
Continue along the A272 towards Wisborough Green and the Cricketers and then on to the Half Moon at Kirdford or the Onslow Arms at Loxwood.
Turn right out of the pub back towards the A272, turn left and immediately right on to Rowner Road, and cycle north to the Blue Ship.

I have been going on [camping] holiday to this pub for several years, each year seems to be better than the last. Large pitch sizes, plus the food is great and you can always be sure that chippy the landlord will help you out. The highlight is having a pint or few after a day sitting in the sun playing bar billiards. Would recommend this to anybody.

The second stop on our bike ride and my first visit here. What a great pub, shame we could only have a quick half of their Fullers beer. I had Chiswick Ale and it was delicious. Warm welcome from the landlord. We will return. On to the Selsey Arms....

Visited over the Easter weekend and the pub is now under the Fullers pub chain but retains its individuality! Food, beer and service fantastic and, what's more, the weather was great and the garden attractive too! Recommended!

We went to the Limeburners a couple of weeks ago to 'suss out the joint'. The pub was warm and staff welcoming. Menu looked great so we went back for my birthday a few days ago. I chose the pan fried calves liver with vegetables. I'm afraid it was the worst calves liver I have ever had and I doubt that it was pan fried. My partner's meal was 'nothing special'. Was the dish of vegetables for one or two? It was extremely small. Mash was OK but almost anyone can make mash!

Staying near Billingshurst for the Goodwood Revival. Party of four, we had dinner here Friday, service and food very good so returned for the Saturday evening. Highly recommended.

Had a great time when we stayed at the campsite in 1994. Looking forward to visiting again on our way back home from Ireland in early June.

Excellent venue, service and menu at very reasonable prices. We can recommend the curry and sausages and mash.

13 of us arrived for lunch following a cold muddy walk and received a friendly welcome from both the landlord and the chef. There was a roaring log fire and the food and service were excellent. It was nice to go to an 'ordinary' pub that hasn't been tarted up. There was only one homemade pudding, which was disappointing, but the main meals and good service more than made up for it. Will definitely go back.

Very friendly atmosphere, good beers and excellent food. I had ribeye steak and my wife had the trio of pork sausages with mash and roasted leeks.
