The Kings Head

How to get there

By car
The pub is on Church Street in Rudgwick [this is the main road through the village]. It is approximately 1 mile [1.6 km] from the A281 Horsham to Guildford Road. There is a large car park opposite the pub.

Cycling
The best off-road way to get here is to pick up the Downs Link bridleway at Christs Hospital or Slinfold. Cycle west towards Guildford and across the main A281. A short distance [less than 0.5 mile] after the main road, there is a path on the right which leads into Station Road in Rudgwick. This leads onto Church Street, turn left and the pub is on the right after less than a mile.

You can also cycle here along the main A281 Horsham to Guildford Road but this can be busy and quite narrow in places.

Other pubs near here

The Wheatsheaf is only a mile from the Kings Head. The Onslow Arms is about 4-5 miles [6-8 km].

This is a picturesque village pub. It has great beer and a fantastic menu of Italian specialities which I later found out were prepared by the Italian owner. This would account for the great flavours in the meal. The meals are great value and we will be back.

We have eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. Guiseppe, the Italian owner, prepare his meals with care and to a very high standard. Whatever you order, either a two-course lunch for £7.40, or a pasta dish, or a specialty Italian dish, or even a pizza, it will always be freshly cooked to a high standard. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. One of the very best places to eat in the area.

I cannot praise this pub enough. I went here on my lunch hour with a friend and was greeted by Guiseppe and his wife who were very friendly and welcoming. They do a bargain two-course lunch for £6 which was delicious. You can tell all of it is homemade with fresh products which is so rare. Although the pub may need a bit of refurb, this just adds to the character. Value for money, good food, friendly and fast service - what more can you ask for?
